CyclingFränk Schleck, a Luxembourgish professional road bicycle racer riding for Team Saxo Bank, started his career in 2001. His breakthrough came in 2005, when he achieved three podium places in the last month of the season. In the 2006 Tour de France, Frank culminated with a stage win atop l’Alpe d’Huez. Oakley’s Australian Simon Gerrans won the 10th stage of the Tour of Spain here on Tuesday, Spanish rider Alejandro Valverde retained the leader’s golden jersey.
The 29-year-old Cervelo rider outpaced three others cyclists, Ryder Hesjedal of Canada, Denmark’s Jakob Fuglsang and Kazakhstan’s Alexander Vinokourov, in a sprint to the line at the end of the 169-kilometre ride from Alicante to Murcia in eastern Spain.
